THE REUNION Director Phil Donlon Exits Due To Creative Differences

Director Phil Donlon has decided to exit the film THE REUNION due to creative differences with the producers regarding his vision for the film.

THE REUNION follows out of work actor Ricky Reilly through a nightmarish dream-like journey as he descends into the depths of New York City to confront a bully from his past at their High School Reunion. Cast includes Dave Rosenberg, who plays Ricky and wrote the screenplay, New York actor Cara Ronzetti (NEW AMSTERDAM), Austin Pendleton (A BEAUTIFUL MIND), and Jim Norton (THE IRISHMAN).

As for details of said creative differences, Donlon told SCREEN, “I was very proud of my cut. My DP/Editor, Gabe Mann, and I created something that was in line with films like TAXI DRIVER and JOKER. Sadly, the producers did not want to go down that road with us.”

What’s Next for Donlon

Donlon is currently directing WILDLANDS, a film in development about California wildfire fighters, alongside producers Matt Munroe, Samuel Hunt and blockbuster film producer/director Roland Emmerich of INDEPENDENCE DAY, THE PATRIOT, and GODZILLA fame. Donlon can also be seen in front of the camera as lead actor in the baseball film and critic’s pick HIGH & OUTSIDE, which is currently available on all VOD platforms.
