Films, Panels, Art Highlight Women in Film Night [Exclusive Photos]

Women in Film Night was hosted at the Rudolf Steiner Branch of the Anthroposophical Society at 4249 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago earlier this month. The event included film screenings, filmmaker panels, and a wide range of artwork and music throughout the festivities.

Let’s take a look at some photo highlights from the event, courtesy of the production team…

The Saturday, June 1st event began with student screenings, followed by a student panel with questions covering their work and creative processes. Filmmakers featured included Cee Pham, Bridget Francis Harris, Caché Peters-Matthews, Rebecca Rhodes, Jewells Santos, and Kevai Lewis.

Women In Film Night presented an industry panel featuring Chicago-based femme filmmakers — Lori Felker, Rachel Bass, Dana Kupper, and Lua Borges.

The event also featured an art market, with female creative vendors including artwork, vintage clothing, ceramics, jewelry, henna, and flash tattoos. The night featured DJ Mimi Dream to begin the evening and Em Grace & The Undercuts, a four-babe punk group.

The event was produced by Which Witch Productions, and co-organized by Which Witch co-founder Hannah Hershfeldt. All promotional artwork and social media promotion for the event was by Alexa Venereo, Which Witch’s marketing director.

The organizers tell SCREEN this will be an annual event. We look forward to next year’s iteration!
