Chicago-Made ‘Why Trump’ To Screen At Columbia College
The documentary, Why Trump: Two Americas, will screen at Columbia College’s Furgeson Theater at 4 pm on April 28. A post-show discussion with writer / director Brian Schodorf, moderated by showrunner and TV producer Craig Harris, will follow.
In the film, Schodorf travels across Middle America to answer the simple question contained in the title. From southeastern Kansas to Tulsa and East St. Louis, he lets everyday Americans explain their political thought processes. The answers represent a national reckoning that grows more urgent by the day.
On a recent interview with CBS, Schodorf explained that the film documents a “racial indignation” that sparked the Tulsa Massacre of 1921, continued into the Obama Presidency and still exists today. The resulting “disconnect” fuels a growing conflict within the United States.
Columbia College graduate Brian Schodorf is a television and film producer, director, and writer who has won seven Regional Emmy Awards and 13 National Telly Awards.
The screening is open to the public. To RSVP, go to WhyTrumpMovie.com.
