‘The Bear,’ ‘Chicago Fire,’ Emmy Winners Highlight Filmscape 2024 This Weekend

Your plans for this weekend are set: Filmscape Chicago is here. You can join film, television and advertising professionals June 22-23 at CineCity Studios all weekend for packed days of education, community building, and more. And the Filmscape team has assembled a superb cohort of industry luminaries to lead the way.

“If you haven’t been to Filmscape in a few years, you’ll be delighted to see we’ve expanded beyond being just being a gear showcase (although we still have plenty of that to go around),” Filmscape Co-Founder Colette Gabriel of Keslow Camera declared to SCREEN.

Among the many esteemed panelists is Chicago Fire star Joe Minoso, who will be talking about balancing paid work with passion projects. He will be joined by Tessa Films co-founder Lisa Masseur, Filmmaker and Dolly Grip Tim Troy, and former Chicago PD Co-Producer Daniele Bernstein.

Virtual Production is a hot topic in the industry and Filmscape Chicago is offering a number of classes and panels to help navigate this world. Classes include an Intro to Virtual Production, When Does Virtual Production Make Sense?, Camera Tracking for Virtual Production highlighting the revolutionary Zeiss CineCraft Scenario system, and The Art & Science of LED Volumes. Guiding you through this all are Technologist and Filmscape Executive Director Gary Adcock, DP/Content Producer Mike Caviani, ROE Visual, and Andy Jarosz, Virtual Production Supervisor at SMASH Virtual Studios.

Other notable speakers include Emmy Award winning Camera Operator Dave Chameides, The Bear‘s SOC TV Operator of the Year nominee Gary Malouf, Director Jennifer Reeder, DP Chris Rejano, and award-winning director and producer Jay Holben.
