‘The Bear’ Begins Filming Season Three in Chicago February 26th

2024 is off to a very busy start for Chicago’s television production community, and the most highly acclaimed darling of the bunch is ready to roll cameras on a a new season. Sources have confirmed to SCREEN the Golden Globe and Emmy winning FX series The Bear is expected to begin filming Season Three in Chicago on February 26th.

Roaring into 2024

The new year has brought a treasure trove of coveted awards to the popular show. Golden Globe voters said “Yes, chef,” to The Bear earlier this year when it beat out Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary to win Best Comedy.

Series star and fan favorite Jeremy Allen White may have shocked the world in 2022 when he won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, but this year, it was no surprise when Jeremy brought home the Globe once again.

As reported last month, the Emmys also saluted the show, with the FX series earning multiple wins, including a victory for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series. Heading home with the hardware were Chicago casting directors Jennifer Rudnicke, Mickie Paskal, and AJ Links of PR Casting for their wonderful work on The Bear, alongside fellow casting director Jeanie Bacharach. What’s Next for The Bear

Back to the present. Season Three of The Bear will begin shooting later this month, on February 26th. Production offices have been open since December. Check back here at SCREEN for updates on new cast members, filming locations, release dates and more.

The Bear was created by Christopher Storer (Ramy) and follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the fine dining world, who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships.
