That’s a Wrap on ‘Chicago PD’ Season 10 and ‘Chicago Med’ Season 8
It’s been a momentous week for NBC’s beloved dramas Chicago PD and Chicago Med. After the week began with anxiously awaited renewals for 2023-2024, Chicago PD and Chicago Med wrap their respective seasons to end this week.
Chicago PD Series Script Supervisor Patricia Frontain summed up the collaborative effort behind the Dick Wolf shows perfectly on her Facebook earlier today:
“Aaaannnndddd… THAT is a wrap on CPD Season 10!
Twenty-two episodes with hundreds of crew/actors working 65 hour weeks for 10 months. A one hour drama is the hardest to produce and we make it look easy!
It is a grind and not for the faint of heart, but totally worth it to help create a quality show with the best cast/crew imaginable.
Now it is time to rest so we are ready for Season 11 to start shooting in July.
Hello hiatus and sunshine and rest. Good-bye long hours, freezing weather and dirty locations.
Thank you to NBC, Universal, Dick Wolf Productions and everyone who watches and helps to keep us in business! Our shows are a huge asset for Chicago!!!!”
Cheers to Patricia and the talented cast and crew of Chicago PD.
And let’s celebrate the wrap on another high-stakes season with a dose of all-time-tense standoffs from Chicago P.D.…
ChiHards can follow up that watch with a montage of the all-time most heartwrenching breakups in Chicago Med and One Chicago history…
Season Renewals for All Three One Chicago Shows
While renewals were expected, given the popularity of One Chicago Wednesday, doubts were beginning to build with each passing week. SCREEN had posted some promising comments from NBC execs back in February, but One Chicago fans – and of course, the vast number of Illinois professionals employed by the three shows – were still anxiously awaiting that greenlight for next season.
And now, they have it.
The season renewals are much deserved, given the fierce fan base for all three shows, plus these eye-popping viewership numbers…
• All three Chicago series rank among the top 10 in both the 18-49 demo and total viewers.
• “Chicago P.D.” is tied for the #1 broadcast drama in the demo for the current season.
• On #OneChicago Wednesdays, NBC is the #1 network in entertainment programming in the demo and total viewers.
• “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” have reached more than 50 million viewers across NBC and Peacock this season.
As for the third member of the Dick Wolf triumvirate, Chicago Fire, sources tell SCREEN the show is expected to wrap in early May.
