Super Bowl Picks and Pans from Optimus Editor Emily Chapman
Which Super Bowl spots did you love? Which did you not love? Let’s hear what the pros had to say! We were thrilled to have Optimus Editor Emily Chapman stop by Screen after the game to present their picks…
SCREEN: What was your favorite spot of the night?
EMILY: General Motors and Netflix with Will Ferrell. Although this year’s lineup of commercials had lots of celebrities, I feel like you just can’t miss with Will Ferrell. His comedic delivery paired with the backdrop of popular shows like Stranger Things and Squid Game came together really well to showcase both GM and Netflix. ETrade and Dunkin’ were also really entertaining, and I was pretty impressed that some spots got stars like Alicia Silverstone and John Travolta to reprise their past roles.
Here is that can’t-miss spot with Will Ferrell…
SCREEN: What was your least favorite spot of the night or a spot you felt could have been more successful?
EMILY: T-mobile with Bradley Cooper and his mom. I think it was my lowest because this spot had SO much potential but fell flat. Also someone should’ve been there to brush Bradley Cooper’s hair.
Let’s take a second look at that hair..
SCREEN: What would you like to see more or less of in terms of advertising in next year’s Super Bowl?
EMILY: Although celebs are great, next year I’d love to see brands not lean so heavily on them to carry their spots.
SCREEN: Any final words here, Emily?
EMILY: Was I the only one madly Googling “RIHANNA PREGNANT” during the halftime show?
