Super Bowl Picks and Pans from Another Country Executive Producer Louise Rider
Which Super Bowl spots did you love? Which did you not love? Let’s hear what the pros had to say! We were thrilled to have Another Country Executive Producer Louise Rider stop by Screen after the game to present her picks…
SCREEN: What was your favorite spot of the night?
LOUISE: The Coinbase Backstreet Boys karaoke spot got the biggest reaction at my annual gathering. Up until the lyric change pulled us out of it at the end, we were singing our hearts out! It was so simple but very effective.
I was also proud to work on the audio post for Lay’s “Last Harvest”. I love the storytelling and emotion of that spot. It’s really beautiful work.
SCREEN: What was your least favorite spot of the night or a spot you felt could have been more successful?
LOUISE: The ai.com spot didn’t do it for me. There’s definitely a way for graphics-only spots to be fun and creative (like Coinbase) but this spot didn’t make me interested to see what that website is all about.
SCREEN: What would you like to see more or less of in terms of advertising in next year’s Super Bowl?
LOUISE: I love the emotional spots the most every year. So more spots that make me tear up.
I’d like to see AI used creatively (like the Claude AI and Google Gemini spots) and not as a means to lower the budget.
SCREEN: Any final words here, Louise?
LOUISE: Can we count the halftime show as an ad for good entertainment?? I thought it was amazing. Benito! Gaga! Ricky! Even Pedro! I enjoyed every bit of it.
