Siskel Film Center Announces July–November Lineup for 25 For 25 Anniversary Series
The Siskel Film Center has announced the July–November lineup for 25 For 25, the screening series anchoring its 25 Years on State Street celebration. Drawn from landmark repertory programs, retrospectives, and audience favorites that lit up the big screens during the Siskel Film Center’s State Street era, the series revisits films that reflect the breadth and adventurousness of the Siskel’s programming over the past quarter-century and the Siskel Film Center’s more than 50-year legacy of innovative film programming in Chicago.
The newly announced July–November lineup includes films by Claire Denis, Abbas Kiarostami, Fritz Lang, Wong Kar-wai, Lucrecia Martel, Shirley Clarke, and Hiroshi Teshigahara, along with a special November 2 screening of Elia Kazan’s WILD RIVER on 35mm, presented by Karina Longworth, creator and host of the podcast You Must Remember This. Highlights also include the return of ANTONIO GAUDÍ on 35mm, a longtime Siskel Film Center holiday-season tradition last screened in 2019, as well as repertory favorites including DRYLONGSO, MYSTERIOUS OBJECT AT NOON, and MILLENNIUM MAMBO.
“The films in 25 For 25 remind us why people keep coming back to the movies. They span generations, countries, genres, and styles, but each offers the chance to share an unforgettable experience with an audience. Our home on State Street may be 25 years old, but the spirit of discovery and shared moviegoing that defines the Siskel goes back much further.”
Tickets for the full 25 For 25 series are now on sale at siskelfilmcenter.org/25for25
