Exclusive: Grammy Award Presenter Sharaun Brown

Sharaun Brown offered up a spontaneous review of this year’s Grammy Awards during a recent interview with Screen Magazine. Referencing Kendrick Lamar, Chapel Roan, Doechii and a handful of others, the Chicago-based influencer analyzed the celebration with the passion of a fan and the authority of a journalist. No doubt, she has earned her place as the Grammy’s Trophy Award Presenter, a job she’ll be handling for the second year in a row on February 1.

To most viewers, the Trophy Model Award Presenter’s main duty is handing out trophies — waiting at the back of the stage, walking across the stage and delivering a gold-plated gramophone. But as Brown explains, the job comes with a huge amount of behind-the-scenes responsibility.

“A lot of people think that a trophy model presenter is just about standing there and looking cute,” she says. “I am actually an extension of the production crew.” There are dozens of people working to execute the Grammy vision; she is the only one visible to viewers.

Sharaun Brown entered the national stage as an America’s Top Model contestant in 2008. Since then, she has appeared in advertising and branding campaigns for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and Betsy Johnson. A successful business owner and busy motivational speaker, she has also become a popular red-carpet correspondent. Her interviews at New York Fashion Week and the Chicago International Film Festival inform thousands of followers.

In person, Sharaun is a down-to-earth and contagiously enthusiastic young lady from Chicago who can make a Sideshow-Bob hairdo look beautiful. After appearing at last year’s Grammys, she visited her grandmother. Tonight, once again, she will represent The Windy City at an event featuring some of the greatest artists of our time.
