It’s shaping up to be a busy Fall in Chicago. Sources tell SCREEN the dramatic feature film Saturn Return will be filming in the Chicagoland area through the months of October and November. Production offices are currently open at Cinespace, and casting is underway. Here is everything we know so far…
Sources tell SCREEN the film will be directed by Greg Kwedar, best known for the Oscar nominated drama Sing Sing. Sing Sing received numerous accolades, highlighted by nominations at the 78th British Academy Film Awards and 97th Academy Awards for lead actor Colman Domingo.
Here is a brief look back at Sing Sing…
The storyline for Saturn Return: During their freshman year of college, Eve, Anders, and Nathan were the best of friends. Then Eve and Anders fell in love. Many updates ahead but here is more of what we have learned so far. Sources tell SCREEN the line producer is Kenneth Yu, and producers include Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Emily Wolfe. Kwedar wrote the script with Gaelyn Golde and Clint Bentley (Kwedar’s co-writer for Sing Sing). Casting Directors for Saturn Return include Laura Rosenthal and Kimberly Ostroy.
Sources tell SCREEN that the budget for Saturn Return is believed to be in the $13-14 million range, but that number has yet to be confirmed.
Neon and Brad Pitt’s Plan B are among the production companies behind this feature film. Neon’s most recent splash was, of course, Anora, which became the company’s second film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, following Parasite…
