Sarofsky Head of Production Joel Signer Answers Five Questions with SCREEN
What do Michael Jordan, Wile E. Coyote, and the Amazing Race have in common? They’re all right here as Sarofsky Head of Production Joel Signer stops by for a thoroughly entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!
SCREEN: If you could be a contestant on any game show in television history, what would it be? Why?
JOEL: I would love to be on The Amazing Race, because you get to travel to see, eat and do wild challenges.
Hopefully you will get your wish one day, Joel! Until then…
SCREEN: It’s that time of year so we have to ask… what’s your favorite street festival in Chicago?
JOEL: Taste of Randolph is my favorite. Obviously because of the location the food is amazing, but honestly I keep coming back because of the amazing music they bring in. I believe in ’06-ish the Black Keys were there and as you’d expect they were fantastic. I also always love the May fest in Lincoln Sq. because the dancing and singing in the tent in the evenings. But I haven’t been to that one in a long time.
SCREEN: Your favorite commercial ever?
JOEL: My favorites spots are all from my childhood and all had great songs to keep them in your head forever. Like Oscar Mayer, McDonald’s Big Mac, Coca Cola spots and the Gatorade “Be Like Mike” spot…
SCREEN: What is your most prized possession?
JOEL: I know this is a super cheesy answer but it’s true. My wife, son and daughter.
SCREEN: Best advice you’ve ever been given?
My Grandma would always say “It never hurts to ask”. And she’s always right. If the answer is no, you haven’t lost anything, and if the answer is yes you’ve gained something you wouldn’t have if you didn’t ask.
BONUS QUESTIONS!
SCREEN: One meal, one restaurant, and we’re buying. What will it be?
JOEL: If you are paying for a plane ticket to Japan, I would love to eat breakfast at one of the tiny sushi kiosks right outside Tokyo Fish Mart. The fish is literally right off the boat and on to your plate.
SCREEN: What is your greatest fear?
JOEL: Karaoke because I can not remember song lyrics and my singing voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
SCREEN: If you could play any superhero in a major motion picture, who would it be?
JOEL: I know its not a superhero, but I’d like to play Wile E. Coyote because that character never gives up! He almost never succeeds in catching the Roadrunner, but he just keeps trying. And for that I admire him.
Enjoy this superb compilation of Wile E. Coyote highlights…
