Quriosity Founder Qadree Holmes Shares His Super Bowl Hits and Misses
Which Super Bowl spots did you love? Which did you not love? Let’s hear what the pros had to say! We were thrilled to have Quriosity Productions Executive Producer and Founder Qadree Holmes stop by Screen after the game to present their picks…
SCREEN: What was your favorite spot of the Super Bowl?
QADREE: My favorite spot was the Bosch spot. I thought is was a great use of a celebrity endorsement. I appreciated the different looks as I had no clue that was Guy Fieri when the spot began. It is something new for Bosch who tends to stay out of the big spot light for advertising because they already have a trusted and strong brand…
I have a to give a solid runners up to Levis. Levi’s celebrated all body sizes and ethnicities while the label we all see remain prominent. The spot was upbeat and energetic and made you feel like these are the cool jeans that never lose their position as cool in the world.
SCREEN: What was your least favorite spot of the night or a spot you felt could have been more successful?
QADREE: I was not a fan of the Lay’s spot this year unfortunately. It felt like a rinse and repeat of last year.
SCREEN: What would you like to see more or less of in terms of advertising in next year’s Super Bowl?
QADREE: I’d lose to see less celebrity drive work and more clever work that doesn’t just rely on celebrity endorsements. I think it was overkill to see some of the celebrities in multiple spots. I think there are a lot of cool folks with influence and performers out there that can also help brands sell products.
SCREEN: Any final words here, Qadree?
QADREE: My son Nigel loved the Coinbase spot the most. He was dancing to it and singing along like it was it YouTube karaoke. So I also think when kids resonate with something perhaps that is the real winner!
