What were your favorite spots from the advertising extravaganza that is the Super Bowl? How about your least favorite? Let’s see how your answers line up with what Optimus Editor Emily Hayes had to say about the great and not-so-great offerings from Sunday night…

SCREEN: What was your favorite spot of the night?

Bud Light Seltzer – 2020 Lemons (loved it for the humor and creatively incorporated 2020)

Indeed – I think a lot of people were able to relate to this and it really pulled at the heartstrings!

Toyota – Jessica Long – This spot was beautifully done:

SCREEN: What was your least favorite spot of the night or a spot you felt could have been more successful?

EMILY: I know there were definitely production challenges given Covid-19, but overall I thought it was a strong turnout and I especially appreciated the content that pushed the creative envelope.

SCREEN: What would you like to see more or less of in terms of advertising in next year’s Super Bowl?

EMILY: I always love when the celebrities you would least expect end up in a Super Bowl commercial. Would love to see someone out of left field!

SCREEN: Any final words here, Emily?

EMILY: Growing up my family always made a big deal about the Super Bowl ads. Although this year didn’t have the usual gatherings/celebrations due to Covid, looking forward to the commercials gave us some sense of normalcy and that was pretty special.
