One Chicago Trailer Brings the Drama, Leaves Unanswered Questions Ahead of Fall Premieres

#ChiHards, get ready! The new teaser trailer for ‘Chicago Med’, ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Chicago PD’ has arrived. While the video doesn’t reveal too much detail, it sets the stage for an exciting season ahead filled with dark drama for all three shows in the #OneChicago franchise. It also leaves fans with many lingering questions about what lies ahead for the shows as premiere night approaches.

The brief clip wastes no time setting a dark tone. It opens with a solemn Lieutenant Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) uttering some harrowing words. “When it feels like life or death, it can be easy to justify stepping over other people to save yourself. But you live or die together,” she says. As she speaks, the camera cuts to Joe Cruz (Joe Miñoso) while he is on the scene of an emergency. With news that Miñoso is leaving ‘Fire’ this season, fans think this could be some sort of easter egg hinting at how his character might be written off the show.

The trailer also highlights tense moments for ‘Chicago P.D.’ characters Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and Officer Eva Imani (Arienne Mandi). Although neither character speaks throughout the video, their expressions of urgency, concern, and apprehension say it all.

But perhaps the most shocking moment from the trailer comes from the ‘Chicago Med’ clip. A car goes crashing through the emergency department sending people inside scrambling. There’s also a moment between Dr. John Frost (Darren Barnet) and a patient that appears to weigh heavily on the pediatric physician.

In other words, the teaser reveals just enough to let fans anticipate the darkness that’s to come for all three shows in this upcoming season. It also highlights the drama and chaos that’s to come. But it’s also sparked tons of speculation about what lies ahead for all three shows:

Does anyone get hurt when the car comes crashing through the emergency department? If so, who?

Does Cruz lose his life in a fire?

What has Sergeant Voight and Imani so concerned?

Why does Severide look panicked?

The good news for #ChiHards is that the guessing game and waiting are almost over. ‘Chicago Med’, ‘Chicago Fire’, and ‘Chicago P.D.’ will premiere on NBC on Wednesday, October 7, in their usual time slots.
