What do Pat Benatar, a 1933 Louis XV Steinway Grand Piano, and the best Halloween costume ever have in common? They’re all right here as Chicago and Midwest talent rep Nikki Weiss-Goldstein stopped by for a thoroughly entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!
SCREEN: It’s that time of year, Nikki, so we gotta ask… Your best Halloween costume ever?
NIKKI: Many years ago, a friend had a Halloween party with the theme to dress as your favorite Superhero. I arrived as Dr. Kristi Funk, my breast cancer surgeon who saved my life. She’s my forever Superhero. And might I just add my little PSA for all of the women reading 5 Questions today. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer with no family history. Early detection saves lives so please make your screening appointment today. And if you’re 35 years young, please get a baseline mammogram. It’s so very important. (Steps off soapbox now)
Nikki, the soapbox is all yours, and we are so glad to have you use it to spotlight such an important message! And here is Nikki’s wonderful Halloween costume…
SCREEN: If you could be a contestant on any game show in history, what would it be?
NIKKI: To Tell The Truth! I was a theater major in college, so deep down inside there’s a frustrated actress in me. I would research the **** out of the person I was supposed to be playing, convincing myself I was really them while hopefully fooling the celeb judges in the process.
SCREEN: What is your most prized possession?
NIKKI: It’s a tie between my 1933 Louis XV Steinway Grand Piano and my classic 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL.
SCREEN: Most famous person you’ve ever met?
NIKKI: I represent a lot of celebrities so I feel like this is an unfair advantage. I was at a friend’s party in Beverly Hills, sitting in the living room, when Sidney Poitier and his wife approached me and my wife to tell us what big fans they were of ours. At the time we were on a docu-series on Showtime. The two of us were speechless.
Here is a montage of Mr. Poitier’s ten most memorable performances on screen…
SCREEN: Best advice you’ve ever been given?
NIKKI: It’s show business, not show friends, so don’t take anything personally in our line of work.
SCREEN: Your greatest athletic achievement?
NIKKI: I was the only girl on the boys baseball team when I was 12.
SCREEN: Your go-to karaoke song?
NIKKI: Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar. It’s a crowd pleaser!
Ok Nikki, let’s hear you singing this one loud and proud…
SCREEN: What’s that TV show you’re a little embarrassed to admit you love to watch?
NIKKI: The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. I love watching the drama and screaming at the TV! Everything is so heightening and personified.
