Bubble Wrap Takes Over in Hilarious New Work for Old National Bank from Schafer Condon Carter
There’s an expression: “Everything old is new again.”
Well, for the past five years, Old National Bank has been redefining what it means to “Get Old.” And its ongoing “Get Old” campaign shows no signs of aging.
The bank’s commitment to playfully challenging expectations around the word “old” – inviting consumers to think differently about a bank that blends experience with fresh thinking – has delivered real-world results. In five years, annual revenues have more than doubled and assets have more than tripled. In short, staying the course has demonstrated how “staying old” is actually fresh.
This month, Old National Bank returns with three new television spots that are part of a broader effort which also includes CTV, OLV and streaming audio, designed to meet audiences where they are today. The work showcases the full scope of Old National Bank’s value, from personal checking to fraud protection to commercial banking solutions. Together, the new “Get Old” work reinforces a central idea: strong banking relationships are built over time, delivering at every stage of a customer’s financial journey.
“Financial security is deeply personal. ‘Get Old’ is our way of reminding people that experience, wisdom and long-term partnerships matter,” said Jim Stadler, Old National Bank’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We want customers to know that whether they are opening their first checking account, protecting what they’ve built, or growing a business, Old National Bank is thinking about their future. This latest chapter of work builds on a campaign that has already proven effective, but which has evolved for today’s moment.”
The advertising was created by Chicago-based Schafer Condon Carter, Old National Bank’s longtime creative agency partner. Three spots, in :30 and :15 lengths, reinforce the brand’s “Just another reason to get old” message and highlight three pillars of value:
“Sweet Dreams” is an all too relatable situation. Two parents “trying” to put a baby to bed, only to be interrupted…BOOM!…by an amazing offer from Old National Bank
“Bubble Wrap” features a customer so obsessed with protection she arrives cloaked head-to-toe in bubble wrap only to find Old National Bank’s fraud protection and financial strategies already have her covered
“Warehouse” tells a commercial banking story where a business owner’s expansion is so big he doesn’t realize his banker is already standing with him inside the massive warehouse, showing a partnership that thinks as big as he does
“Old National Bank isn’t just inviting customers to ‘Get Old.’ It’s making the case for why staying power matters,” said Craig Miller, Chief Creative Officer at Schafer Condon Carter. “The campaign is rooted in the belief that trust compounds over time and that consistency is a competitive advantage. We’re creating work that entertains, but what truly resonates is the promise underneath: that banking should feel steady, personal and built to last. That belief shapes not only the story we tell but also how we tell it. We’ve worked with the same production partners year after year because that level of consistency matters.”
The new work will run regionally beginning this week in the bank’s core markets of Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis and Nashville, as well as its expansion markets of Detroit, Grand Rapids, Louisville, Lexington, Milwaukee and St. Louis. It will run across TV, CTV, OLV and streaming audio.
