Leo SVP and Exec Producer Joe Tipre Plays Five Questions with SCREEN
What do Doctor Strange, Spike Lee and a trip to Yosemite have in common? They’re all right here as Leo SVP and Executive Producer Joe Tipre stops by for a thoroughly entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!
SCREEN: Thanks for playing, Joe! So… If you were given $50 million tomorrow, what would you do?
JOE: Travel, and supporting my family in finding their best lives. There are some more responsible things I’d also do with the money since $50 million is A LOT of cash, but first things first!
SCREEN: Your favorite project you’ve ever worked on?
JOE: Michelob Ultra “Call From Nature” – 400 extras in the mountains of Chile and downtown Santiago. Such a fun project to be part of. We wired up actors to jump from cars, run through the desert and to be lifted into the sky. Totally unique project all around.
Let’s take a look at this superb spot…
SCREEN: If you had one word on your T-shirt, what would it be?
JOE: Clandestine
SCREEN: Most famous person you’ve ever met?
JOE: I met Spike Lee on a few projects in advertising. He was always professional, pretty no-nonsense but saw the humor in the machinations of commercial production. He brought in top level department heads and ran his sets as any director does but clearly advocated for each to run the show for their discipline. Instead of speaking for all aspects of the production like a lot of directors, he had each of his leads run their area of the pre production meeting with the Client and Agency teams. A really smart and empowering way to lead without being the only one talking.
SCREEN: What is your most prized possession?
JOE: My daughter, but you don’t really possess your kids. My marriage, it’s not a physical object but I would not be where I am today without my partner in crime. Physical object, a small chalky piece of the Cliffs of Dover from a trip I took last year.
BONUS QUESTIONS!
SCREEN: If you could be any superhero, who would it be?
JOE: Dr. Strange, salt and pepper haired scientist turned sorcerer, with a cape? IN
SCREEN: What are you looking forward to the rest of 2026?
JOE: Traveling, we did a West coast road trip to Yosemite in the Spring and have some more coming. A milestone birthday in the Fall and all the Summer days on the lake in between.
SCREEN: Best advice you’ve ever been given?
JOE: We have two ears and one mouth and we should use them proportionally.
