Kate Hamamoto Answers Five Questions with Screen
What do The Kardashians, President Biden, and competitive water polo have in common? They are all on the docket this week as Quriosity’s Production Supervisor Kate Hamamoto stops by for an entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN…
SCREEN: Most famous person you’ve ever met?
KATE: The 44th and 46th Presidents of the United States! My aunt was the Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva during former President Obama’s term so I was lucky enough to meet both him and President Biden.
SCREEN: What activity are you most looking forward to once the country goes “back to normal,” hopefully later this year?
KATE: I’m really excited to be able to travel abroad. It’s a luxury I was able to enjoy with my family almost every year growing up so definitely looking forward to another family trip. On my bucket list is Japan – where my extended family on my Dad’s side hails from – Greece, and Iceland!
SCREEN: What is your biggest fear?
KATE: Birds! I watched Hitchcock’s The Birds a little too early I guess and while I have had a few freaky encounters myself I still have both eyeballs! That scene will haunt me forever!
Speaking of “that scene,” here it is along with other haunting highlights from the Hitchcock classic The Birds…
SCREEN: Your greatest athletic achievement?
KATE: I really only played soccer and water polo competitively in high school but we won the state championship multiple times throughout my 4 years! Being a part of those teams and being coached by my dad was one thing I’ll cherish forever.
SCREEN: What’s that TV show you’re a little embarrassed to admit you love to watch?
KATE: Definitely Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It’s so enthralling to watch a family’s lifestyle so different from your own but also really feel like you’re included and invested in their well-being…
BONUS QUESTIONS!
SCREEN: Worst job ever?
KATE: I truly, honestly, haven’t had a job I disliked! I’ve done a variety of things from teaching middle-schoolers to lifeguarding to the hostessing/bussing/waitressing summer job everyone has and more and I loved each experience! I know it may be a cop-out but I really learned from and enjoyed each experience in their unique ways.
SCREEN: What’s inspiring you today?
KATE: This seems pretty lame but at the moment I’m really enjoying Reddit’s subreddit with the question “What Piece of Advice Changed Your Life”. While one includes “don’t take advice from strangers on the internet,” there are other great quotes and simple sentences which remind me to stay present and really live my life.
