Is ‘The Bear’ Filming TWO Seasons Right Now in Chicago?

The ravenous fan base for The Bear rejoiced when filming for Season Three began rolling last month in Chicago. But might the critically acclaimed show be shooting Season Four now as well? There have been no official announcements from FX or Hulu to date, but sources tell SCREEN that The Bear is currently filming both Season Three and Season Four in Chicago.

So would that mean there might be two seasons of The Bear released in 2024? Probably not. Sources tell SCREEN that Season Four of the Golden Globe and Emmy winning series would likely be released in June of 2025. And as reported here at SCREEN, FX chairman John Landgraf recently announced that the third season of The Bear will premiere this summer, in June 2024.

To reiterate, FX and Hulu have not yet confirmed or announced any information on a potential Season Four of The Bear. So for now, fans can savor that anticipation for the Season Three premiere coming up this June, with some reasonable hopes that a fourth season will eventually make its way onto the menu as well.

Many more announcements ahead for the show, including the exact Season Three premiere date this June, S3 trailers, cast additions, and more. As the news becomes available, we will have it for you here at SCREEN. You can click right here to subscribe to our weekly email newsletter.

Fans Love The Bear, Award Shows LOVE The Bear

The new year has brought a treasure trove of coveted awards to the popular show. Golden Globe voters said “Yes, chef,” to The Bear earlier this year when it beat out Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary to win Best Comedy.

Series star and fan favorite Jeremy Allen White may have shocked the world in 2022 when he won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, but this year, it was no surprise when Jeremy brought home the Globe once again.

Let’s take a quick look back at Jeremy’s second straight win to open the year…

The Bear also earned a Golden Globe win for Ayo Edebiri for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy…

As reported earlier this year, the Emmys also saluted the show, with the FX series earning multiple wins, including a victory for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series. Heading home with the hardware were Chicago casting directors Jennifer Rudnicke, Mickie Paskal, and AJ Links of PR Casting for their wonderful work on The Bear, alongside fellow casting director Jeanie Bacharach. The show’s Emmy wins tallied victories for Edibiri, White, director Christopher Storer, and more. Click here for the full recap, in case you missed it last month.

The Bear was created by Christopher Storer (Ramy) and follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the fine dining world, who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships.

And if you’re late to the feast, don’t sweat it. All episodes from the first two seasons of “The Bear” are now available on Hulu. Click here to enjoy the first and second seasons.
