International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA) Opens Submissions for the ISA Student Fellowship
There’s a recurring question in film schools and creative writing programs: “How do I actually break into the industry?”
For student screenwriters, the path from classroom to career has always felt murky — until now.
The International Screenwriters’ Association (ISA) has just opened submissions for the ISA Student Fellowship, a free-to-enter program designed specifically to bridge that gap. We’ve attached the full press release, but here’s why this might resonate with your audience:
What Makes This Different:
Unlike most student competitions that end with a certificate, the ISA Student Fellowship provides tangible career infrastructure: Up to three fellows receive $1,000 in ISA platform credits, consideration for ISA’s Development Slate (where scripts are shared with Netflix, Disney+, Amazon/MGM, HBO Max, CAA, ICM, and other industry partners), featured articles in Creative Screenwriting Magazine and Film Inquiry, and direct meetings with ISA Development Executives.
The Top 50 finalists receive a three-month ISAConnect membership.
And crucially: It’s completely free to apply. No entry fees. No barriers.
Why It Matters:
Past ISA Fellows have signed with CAA, Paradigm, and ICM. They’ve landed management deals and seen their scripts optioned. This isn’t theoretical; it’s a proven pipeline that’s launched real careers.
The fellowship is open to all students 18+, across all formats (features, pilots, web series, shorts) and all genres. Traditional universities, online programs, community colleges — all eligible. International students are welcome.
Key Dates:
Final Deadline: December 18, 2025
