Inspiring and Impactful Night at Patrick Lives On Fundraiser [Exclusive Photos]

It was an inspiring and impactful night in Chicago this past weekend. More than a dozen films led the 7th Annual Patrick Lives On Film Showcase and Fundraiser at Resolution Studios on Saturday, February 24th. Created by seasoned vets as well as emerging directors, actors, writers and crew, the presentation highlighted a night of food, drink and camaraderie that has become one of the film community’s most beloved events of the year.

The showcase and fundraiser are part of Patrick Lives On, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of citizens working together to keep Chicago area youth safe and engaged that was founded eight years ago by Chicago-based film pro Patricia Frontain (Twisted Sister [Director], Chicago PD [Script Supervisor]. It is sponsored and hosted by Resolution Studios and Cinespace Studios, with additional sponsors including Rivers Casino, AICP Midwest, Daily Planet Productions, CineCity Studios, and the Alex A. Pissios Family Foundation.

BEHIND THE SCENES
Frontain was inspired to launch the organization after losing her son Patrick to an act of senseless violence nine years ago. By transforming her grief into action, she has realized a desire to help at least one teen be saved and a desire to help other mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends to never feel what her family feels.

“My son Patrick lives on to encourage all filmmakers to create and share their non-violent themed short stories through film” she says. “This fundraising event is an opportunity for our local film community to share their work with their peers, friends and family while helping to raise funds for a worthy cause.”

Since its founding in April, 2016, the Patrick Lives On organization has helped hundreds of teens. The 7th Annual Film Showcase & Fundraiser will make it possible for Patricia and Patrick Lives On to continue their mission.

The soiree is an exhilarating way to mingle with film industry comrades while enjoying beer, wine and cuisine from numerous Chicago fine eating establishments. In addition to the two-hour short film reel, the evening’s raffle prizes include $30K of various film gear and services and a large assortment of non-film industry items.
