Illinois-Made ‘Christmas on the Ranch’ Tops the Charts on Hulu

After premiering on Hulu November 1st, the locally produced Christmas on the Ranch quickly rose to the streaming giant’s Top 15 lists. It ranked #14 out of all movies and TV shows and as the #4 most watched movie – an impressive feat for an independent film up against major studio and network titles all vying for viewers’ attention.

Christmas on the Ranch is the third holiday feature from the Chicago-based Very Merry Entertainment and the production company’s second exclusive premiere on Hulu following last year’s Reporting for Christmas. That film debuted in the Top 15 as well, ranking as the #10 most watched title shortly after its release.

Christmas on the Ranch follows a talk show relationship expert (Jade Harlow) with her own romantic hang-ups who gets stranded at a ranch before Christmas, and the charming rancher (Houston Rhines) who reminds her that love is always worth the risk. The movie has already generated a lot of buzz, including a recent plug by Tom’s Guide calling it one of the few trending titles worth watching on Hulu.

“With everything going on in the world and so much negative news coverage, audiences are increasingly turning to uplifting, family-friendly content,” said producer Chris Charles. “We’re happy that Christmas on the Ranch is providing a welcome escape and hope the film continues resonating with audiences over the holiday season.”

Christmas on the Ranch can be streamed exclusively on Hulu and will be available on other platforms next year.
