‘Good Girls Get Fed’ Opens Special Industry Showcase August 30
The breakout proof of concept short film GOOD GIRLS GET FED is slated for a special screening to open up an industry showcase hosted by RISE FLIX and North Hollywood CineFest on August 30, 2025. With nearly half a million views in its first three months on streaming platform FilmShortage, it’s already taken the throne of the most viewed genre film on the platform.
The award-winning psychological horror follows three captive women who must win twisted challenges to earn food and survive. Tense and disturbing, GOOD GIRLS GET FED serves as an unflinching exploration of the female experience in today’s society, with an ending that exposes systemic rot and turns a mirror onto its audience. “This film should spark conversation, debate and introspection,” says writer/director Kelly Lou Dennis, who also stars in the film. “I hope it urges audiences to question the expectations that society has fed them their whole lives and discover that they can demand more.”

With a successful festival run across 18 film festivals including Oscar-Qualifying San Jose International Film Festival where it collected 9 awards across a range of categories – from Best Of Fest, to Best Writing, to “Best Horror With A Message” – the market for the GOOD GIRLS GET FED feature film has begun to materialize. Currently in development, the feature script is already winning and placing at screenwriting competitions.
Sharing the stage with GOOD GIRLS GET FED at the special screening are IT’S A SIMPLE LIFE (Anthony D’Eredita and Jesse Jines), SAVAGE SAM (Justin Frick), WITHIN (Jorge Miranda) and DESOLATE (Jose Escorcia).
The industry panel will be made up of MAX GESCHWIND (CAA Media Finance), SHELBY SCHULTZ (LOOK Cinemas Director of Programming), STEPHANIE PFINGSTEN (Lumos PR CEO), BIANCA GOODLOE (Goodloe Law Partner), STEVEN ISTOCK (California Pictures President & CEO) and SELENA SCHOUPS (Marque Entertainment Talent Manager).
