Five Questions with VMYL&R Senior Producer Allie Magill

What do Foo Fighters, Mary Poppins, and Salt-N-Pepa have in common? They’re all right here as VMYL&R Senior Integrated Producer Allie Magill stops by for a thoroughly entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!

SCREEN: Thanks for stopping by, Allie! Let’s start with a tough one… Celebrity crush?

ALLIE: Dave Grohl, forever. The music, the hair, the humor…he’s got it all.

Allie, enjoy this acoustic rendition of Everlong from Dave, along with his commentary about the origin of the iconic track…

SCREEN: Worst job ever?

ALLIE: My first job was in the kitchen at an old folks home. I have nothing against the elderly….but FEEDING the elderly is not something I’m cut out for.

SCREEN: If you could be a contestant on any game show or reality show in television history, what would it be?

ALLIE: Nickelodeon Guts. As a child that climbed everything, jumped off every structure, and did backflips on the couch… this show was made for me.

Allie, enjoy the All Star Guts special right here…

SCREEN: If you could play any superhero in a major motion picture, who would it be?

ALLIE: Does Mary Poppins count? Because as a mother of three kids aged five and under, I envy that magic bag and would like to steal it for myself.

– Your go-to karaoke song?

ALLIE: Shoop by Salt-n-Pepa. I’ve known every lyric to that song from a very inappropriately young age.

Ok let’s hear it, Allie! Here we go…

BONUS QUESTIONS!

SCREEN: We are already missing Summer here in Chicago so we have to ask… what was your best Summer Vacation Ever?

ALLIE: It wasn’t exactly summer, but we had 50 people come to the Dominican Republic for our wedding and it was the best vacation ever.

SCREEN: Your greatest athletic achievement?

ALLIE: This comes with zero accolades, but I was a pole vaulter in high school.

SCREEN: Best advice you’ve ever been given?

ALLIE: From the words of my Mother, “Quit your bitchin!” to which I’ve interpreted as “complaining gets you nowhere.” Thanks, Mom.
