Five Questions with SCREEN: St. Louis Film Commissioner Kelley Hiatt
What do Tom Petty, Catwoman, and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have in common? They’re all right here as St. Louis Film Commissioner Kelley Hiatt stops by for a thoroughly entertaining round of Five Questions with SCREEN. Let’s get to it!
SCREEN: Thanks for stopping by, Kelley! Before we get to the rapid-fire questions, please let our readers know why they should consider St. Louis for their next film, television or commercial production!
KELLEY: The MO Motion Media Tax Incentive is one of the best in the country with upticks reaching 42%! It is fully transferable, and we have financial institutions on the ready to purchase the credits. St. Louis is a location wonderland! It is perfect mix of the old, new and re-imagined. The cobblestone streets of Laclede’s Landing can give you New York or New Orleans. While The Hill and Dog Town presents Boston, Baltimore or New Jersey. We have Anywhere USA for days!
SCREEN: Sounds good! All right, let’s jump into some rapid-fire questions… Your favorite restaurant in St. Louis? What should we order when we go?
KELLEY: My favorite restaurant is Citizen Kane’s. Although they are known for their steaks….. my go to is the pork chop! It is smothered with a horseradish, brown sugar, and apple glaze. Complemented with a side of creamed spinach and a warm roll!
SCREEN: If you could be any superhero, who would it be?
KELLEY: I would be Catwoman. She is equal parts pounce and purr, shows empathy yet is fierce, takes flying leaps and always lands on her feet.
Here’s a Catwoman throwback clip for you…
SCREEN: Celebrity crush?
KELLEY: Paul Rudd. He’s obviously hysterical, which is number one in my book. He doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously and comes across as regular everyday guy who just happens to be incredibly talented and famous.
SCREEN: If you could be a member of any musical group in history, what would it be?
KELLEY: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He is my all-time favorite musician. His music brings me joy, reminds me of good times and loved ones. I can imagine being on stage with him would do the same, x 1bazillion!!!
Kelley (and you) will enjoy this Tom Petty classic…
BONUS QUESTIONS!
SCREEN: What is your most prized possession?
KELLEY: My most prized possessions are my two beautiful daughters, Molly and Sydney.
SCREEN: Your go-to karaoke song?
KELLEY: My go to karaoke song is “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”. I love the bad a** girl power the song brings out! Can’t help but feel I can conquer the world after belting that one out!
SCREEN: What’s that TV show you’re a little embarrassed to admit you love to watch?
KELLEY: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and New Jersey. It’s just so outrageous. I love the drama and the notion that it is “real life” for those ladies. The houses, clothing, fancy vactions and parties are so insane. It’s perfect laundry folding entertainment!
