Filmscape Is Here: What to Watch, See, Do
Filmscape Chicago is here and the cinema and television production expo is all virtual and all free for you to enjoy this week. The main event is this weekend, August 29th and 30th, but Filmscape will have a number of unique events and roundtables leading up to the weekend, starting this afternoon. Let’s take a look . . .
Filmscape Chicago is a cinema and television production expo that focuses on community building, providing two days of completely free education for technicians, film students, and local filmmakers. Industry vendors will exhibit their newest technologies, and industry technicians and artists will share their expertise with the audience through classes and seminars. Founded by veteran technicians and educators working in and around the Chicagoland area with a passion for the community, Filmscape Chicago is more than a trade show.
This year Filmscape Chicago will continue to offer an amazing selection of completely free classes, as well as a lineup of top industry manufacturers, all from the comfort of your web browser. Screen’s Mary Munez spoke with two of the founders of Filmscape, Keslow Camera’s Colette Gabriel and lighting guru Ned McGregor, for a quick look at what you can expect this week, here’s a clip breaking down the highlights for this week:
Filmscape will also offer several engaging events throughout this week, leading up to the big weekend. One of the highlights will be “The power of collaboration: a discussion with Director Jennifer Reeder and DP Chris Rejano” Thursday August 27th at 10am Central. Reeder and Rejano have been collaborating on various projects for many years. Dive into a discussion with the two of them on their process creating award winning films including “Signature Move” and “Knives and Skin.”
