Filmscape 2024 Announces Dates, Opens Registration

There is one weekend you can confidently ink into your 2024 calendar. Filmscape Chicago is set for June 21-23 at CineCity Studios, and registration is now open. Co-Founder Colette Gabriel of Keslow Camera stopped by to share some big news about what’s in store for this year’s Filmscape.

“We’re excited to announce we’ve added a third full day of free classes this year,” Colette shared with SCREEN. “Classes will take place Friday through Sunday, while the trade show floor will be open Saturday and Sunday. Every year we hear from participants and vendors with ideas on classes they’d like to attend or host. CineCity has graciously freed up more space for us to do so.”

And this year’s Filmscape might offer some new opportunities for you to be a part of the event. “For any professionals looking to teach a class, we’d love to hear from you,” Colette said to SCREEN. “We want to cover as many aspects of filmmaking as there is interest.”

Simply put, Filmscape Chicago brings together filmmakers, artists, technicians, and students from across Chicago and the greater Midwest for networking, education, and training – all completely for free.

Here’s a quick look at one of the highlights of the 2023 Filmscape, a panel with The Bear Director of Photography Andrew Wehde and his team…

“If you haven’t been to Filmscape in a few years, you’ll be delighted to see we’ve expanded beyond being just being a gear showcase (although we still have plenty of that to go around),” Colette declared to SCREEN. “Stay tuned for a full class list, but expect classes on virtual production, model making, producing, and so much more.”

As we await the schedule announcement later this year, you can click right here to register for Filmscape, or to be considered to teach a class yourself.
