In this taut, Chicago-made thriller, after the violent death of his father, teenage Will and his mother Tessa move to a small town. Angry and insecure, Will is introduced to the local gun culture, further fracturing his relationship with his mother and complicating his grief. GOOD GUY WITH A GUN deftly uses the coming-of-age genre to explore dialogues surrounding gun access and create a unique portrait of trauma and an American family.
