Chicago Premiere of SISTER CARRIE

December 16, 2022 - December 20, 2022

The Gene Siskel Film Center is thrilled to present the Chicago premiere of SISTER CARRIE, a new film directed by Chicago filmmaker (and Film Center alumnus) Daniel Nearing (CHICAGO HEIGHTS, HOGTOWN), with a live orchestral score provided by members of the Emory University Symphony Orchestra and featuring a conversation with lead actors Eve Rydberg (Banana Season, Make-Out Party), Fabrice Calmels (Joffrey Ballet, The Big Leap), and Cameron Knight (Blue Bloods, The Orville), composer Paul Bhasin (HOGTOWN). The film is a visually rich, black-and-white tone poem about romantic love and conscience.

The benefit screening will take place on Friday, December 16, 2022, with an “Art Film Formal” dress code (black t-shirt to Black Tie). The screening with live orchestral score starts at 6:30 PM, followed by a Q&A and champagne reception at 8:00 PM. Benefit tickets, with all proceeds supporting the Film Center, are $50.

Two additional screenings with a live orchestral score (at regular $12 admission prices) will take place Saturday, December 17 at 4:00 PM & 6:30 PM. An Art Film Formal dress code (black t-shirt to Black Tie) is also suggested for 6:30pm screening on Saturday, December 17.

Two regular screenings without live score will take place on Sunday, December 18, at 2:00 PM & Tuesday, December 20, at 6:30 PM.
