Editor Erik Tobeler Joins 11 Dollar Bill
It’s always uplifting to share some new hire announcements as we head into the new year. 11 Dollar Bill has added editor Erik Tobeler to its growing creative team. Tobeler, who brings experience in advertising, branded content, documentaries and other media, will be based out of the company’s Boulder office and assume the post of Creative Lead. Among his first projects is a moving public service announcement for The Climate Reality Project which launched during the organization’s annual 24 Hours of Reality event.
11 Dollar Bill Managing Partner Lisa Effress notes that Tobeler has collaborated with the studio on several projects. They were impressed with his storytelling skills and enthusiasm. “We’re thrilled to have Erik join our team,” she says. “We’ve watched his talent blossom and expect him to be a big contributor to our future success.”
Tobeler began his career as an outdoor/adventure filmmaker. He directed and edited documentary, lifestyle and product videos for Michigan-based Moosejaw Mountaineering. Turning his focus exclusively to post production, he became a freelance editor on a range of projects. Brands included Reebok, Mountain Hardware, Topo, Clif, Epic and Buff. Highlights included outdoor-themed commercials for Vail Resorts and Newday Impact Investing. Here is a look at another highlight, the documentary Deep Water – Psicobloc in Vietnam with Kyrie Condie and Tim Emmett:
“I love the craft of editing, the ability to shape stories and sometimes take them in surprising or unique directions,” Tobeler observes. “The work is demanding, but I enjoy the challenge and find it very fulfilling.”
In his new role, Tobeler looks forward to expanding his skills and taking on projects across a range of media and genres. “11 Dollar Bill is the perfect fit for me,” he says. “I’m excited about the work we can create together.”
