‘Chicago Fire’ Star Dermot Mulroney To Take Leave

As news of his absence breaks, another familiar face and fan favorite is set to return next week.

Things are going to be different around Firehouse 51. Chicago Fire‘s Dermot Mulroney, who stars as Chief Dom Pascal, is leaving the show. Chief Pascal will appear in the next three episodes of the season with his final being on March 4th. That’s when #ChiHards get what they’ve wanted for years: another crossover among all three shows in the #OneChicago series. It’s unclear when or if he will return.

Rob Morgan will step in as Battalion Chief Hopkins in Pascal’s absence. Morgan’s character is bound to shake things up in the firehouse as his reputation is that he has a past that doesn’t sit well with colleagues from his previous firehouses. Chief Hopkins’ debut will be episode 16 of the season. He is said to appear in multiple episodes, including the Chicago Fire finale.

As fans prepare to bid farewell to one main character, another familiar face is coming back to 51. Jake Lockett returns as Sam Carver in next week’s episode. And by the looks of the promo, it’s safe to say he’s not exactly thrilled by the notion of Violet and Vasquez. It’s unclear if Carver will return for more than one episode, but either way we can sense things are going to get heated between the two men as they vie for Violet’s love.
