Chicago Dates Are Set for THE BATMAN
The Chicago dates for THE BATMAN are set. Director Matt Reeves and his team will be shooting in Chicago for five days next month, and are currently in pre-production. Those days consist of two full weekends, beginning on October 16, 17, 18, then finishing up on October 24 and 25. Sources tell SCREEN that filming is expected to take place mostly in downtown Chicago, capturing some action-packed scenes with extensive driving sequences and a massive number of cameras in play. While it is a relatively brief shoot, it looks like THE BATMAN will offer a large-scale production that will employ plenty of Chicago and Illinois professionals.
Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell in Chicago?
So the question Robert Pattinson and Colin Farrell fans might be asking right now is… who’s coming to the Windy City next month? Will Pattinson, Farrell, and the ensuing throngs of adoring fans be descending upon downtown Chicago in October? Or will it be primarily pro drivers and stunt doubles in their finest Batgear doing the heavy lifting for this city shoot? The answer is: we will probably all find out at the same time – when cameras roll on October 16th – as cast lists for October 16-25 have not yet been made available.
Where Is BATMAN Now?
THE BATMAN is currently back to work in the UK as star Robert Pattinson returned to set last Thursday, September 17th, after contracting coronavirus and halting production for two weeks. A Warner Bros. Pictures spokesperson confirmed to the UK’s Daily Mail: ‘Following a hiatus for COVID-19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on THE BATMAN in the U.K.’ Click here for photos of Pattinson back on set, courtesy of Daily Mail.
