Creative Cypher Announces Its First Animated Project by Creator Lamard Cher-Aime

Creative Cypher continues to break barriers in Black film as it releases its first animation project, Captain Zero

Captain Zero is one of nine projects already in various stages of production for Creative Cypher and was created by Lamard Cher-Aime. The Film revolves around Xerxes Hughes, a social media obsessed teenager who must uncover the cause of his random blackouts to stop his depression demon–a physical manifestation of all his deep seated insecurities. The Film stars Keith DavidAngelica RossZolee GriggsCoty GallowayMarion Toro and Jazz Walker.

The film is intended to be a detailed glimpse into what audiences can expect from an animated series. The film is about a Black teenager on a mental health journey as he learns to process his trauma, while attempting to save the day…and save himself.

The film has already picked up momentum after independently raising funds for production.

“The message is powerful for today’s young, Black man,” said Creative Cypher’s Troy Pryor. “I started my career as a voice actor so I was on board as soon as I saw Keith David.“

Creative Cypher also recently launched a brand called Dark Berry Productions, and is rolling out XL Fest later this summer in Chicago.
