Cannon Kinnard Answers Five Questions with SCREEN
“This is where I would have taken Anthony Bourdain if I had one shot at impressing him”… This week, 11 Dollar Bill Executive Producer and Business Development Manager Cannon Kinnard stops by for Five Questions with Screen!
SCREEN: What has been your favorite “stay-at-home” activity over the past few weeks?
CANNON: I’ve definitely been enjoying my bird feeder. I watch it with ferocious intensity and excitedly yell out the play-by-play of what’s happening between the finches and cardinals and blue jays. I miss baseball.
SCREEN: Best restaurant in Chicago? Best restaurant in any city OTHER than Chicago?
CANNON: Chicago – Shan Restaurant on Sheridan and Winona. That’s where I would have taken Anthony Bourdain if I had one shot at impressing him. Get the Bhindi Masala.
Las Vegas – Lotus of Siam. I loathe Vegas but have to go for work from time to time. This is the most amazing Thai food ever. I would go to Vegas just for this. I’d have lunch and just sit in the parking lot waiting for dinner. Start with the papaya salad and just don’t stop ordering stuff.
SCREEN: Favorite guilty pleasure TV?
CANNON: If my wife let me, I would constantly have RICK STEVES’ EUROPE playing over and over and over again. I love it because it’s just moving wallpaper and it leaves my brain free to wander.
SCREEN: What is your biggest fear?
CANNON: Toilet snakes. And now it’s yours too. You’re welcome.
SCREEN: What is inspiring you today?
CANNON: Definitely watching how my co-workers at 11 Dollar Bill, as well as the rest of our industry community, are adapting to our current situation. It’s incredible to see people finding new ways to flourish and work together to figure out how to safely navigate these new waters. This is a town of hardworking, scrappy winners and we’re coming through this thing tougher and more creative than ever.
