Big Teeth Small Shorts Film Festival is back, bringing its 11th screening to Chicago’s indie cinema hub, Facets, on February 6, 2025. This one-of-a-kind event showcases an unexpected variety of more than 40 short films, each under five minutes, from a mix of global talent and fresh new voices.
Since its inception, Big Teeth Small Shorts has championed the art of micro-filmmaking, giving these small but mighty stories a platform to shine. In a world where “short films” can stretch to 40 minutes, these compact works often get overlooked. By keeping each film under five minutes, the festival delivers bold, unforgettable storytelling that highlights the power of brevity in artistry.
A WHIRLWIND OF ORIGINALITY
“You get the full film festival experience in under 2 hours”, said Gregg Jaffe, Festival Founder and Director. “The beauty of this format is that you will 100% see something different from anything you’ve seen before. You might be laughing hysterically one moment and deeply moved the next—it’s a whirlwind of originality that stays with you long after the credits roll.”
Following a sold-out show at Facets in July 2024, the festival has solidified itself as a favorite among Chicago’s film enthusiasts as each screening is a carefully curated celebration of bold storytelling, proving that a lot can be said in just a few minutes.
