11th Annual Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival Returns to Oriental Theatre Oct 1-4

01 Oct 2026

the Muslim Women’s Coalition presents the 11th Annual Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival returning to Milwaukee Film’s historic Oriental Theatre. Running from October 1 through 4, the Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival (MMFF) stands as a testament to the transformative power of storytelling through film by promoting understanding, honoring diverse experiences, and giving voice to stories not often seen. MMFF celebrates the vibrant tapestry of Islamic culture and commemorates the shared human spirit that binds us all together, redefining how we see each other as well as the world.

“We are thrilled to begin our second decade of hosting the Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival at the beautiful Oriental Theatre. We are thankful for the partnership of Milwaukee Film and their dedicated team,” expressed Janan Najeeb, Founder and Executive Director of the Muslim Women’s Coalition. “As the first independent Muslim Film Festival in the country, we recognize the unique opportunity we have to offer meaningful, timely, and thought provoking films and talkbacks. We have a great lineup this year ranging from gripping real life documentaries to nail biting murder mystery dramas. We are especially excited for the amazing line-up of talkback speakers,” she concluded.

The Milwaukee Muslim Film Festival kicks things off on October 1 with an opening night screening of American Doctor, with delicious appetizers and refreshments available, followed by an engaging talkback. The full MMFF lineup includes eight films across four days, each with a post-screening talkback.
