Big Week for Singleton Series
July 22, 2020 by Screenmag
Vincent Singleton's RURAL, set and shot in Pembroke, IL, explores the lives of an ensemble cast as their ambitions, fears, and secrets collide. The fast-paced, suspenseful episodes are presented in digestible 6-8-minute segments, accommodating the online social media platform and keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Beginning Friday, July 24th, episodes of the micro-series RURAL will be released live via Facebook.com/FilmCollectiveStudios with behind the scenes extras and a live component including Cast and Crew conversation, and Q&A. Total daily event runtime will be from 8-8:30pm Central.
“Creating complex and layered characters for RURAL was an exciting challenge of pulling from real experiences and shaping them into a compelling narrative,” Singleton told SCREEN. Here is your first look at RURAL:
“With the pandemic re-shaping the ways in which we produce and consume content, independents have the advantage of being able to pivot quickly with the changing times," Singleton told SCREEN. "This inspired the re-imagining of the format for RURAL and its release strategy." RURAL will be available to view for free during the live event from July 24th to July 31st. Afterwards, beginning August 1st, it will be available for purchase via Amazon Prime Video. Amazon Prime members will be able to stream Season 1 for no additional cost.
The live week-long event will continue nightly at beginning at 8:00pm Central via Facebook.com/FilmCollectiveStudios, after which episodes will be available on the Film Collective Studios Facebook page, minus the live extras, for a limited window of free viewing (until August 3rd, 2020 at midnight). Following the week-long event, the micro series and extras will be available for rent on Amazon Prime Video.
