Chicago-Based Marketing & PR Agency Relaunches as Bright Iris Film Co.
August 14, 2020 by Screenmag
Veteran film publicist and strategist Lisa M. Trifone today announces the relaunch of the marketing and publicity agency she founded in 2017, under a new name and with an expanded slate of services. The newly minted Bright Iris Film Co. connects films to audiences through distribution, marketing and publicity services for independent films, arthouse studios, film festivals and filmmakers.
Since its inception, Bright Iris Film Co.—formerly known as 11th Street Lot Marketing & Publicity—has represented independent and arthouse titles through traditional release publicity, social media marketing campaigns, festival premieres and more. Prior to starting the company, Trifone worked in arthouse film distribution with Music Box Films (Meru, The Club) and Film Movement (Human Capital, Ilo Ilo), as well as in publicity roles at Sundance Film Festival, Cinema/Chicago and Heartland Film. The relaunch as Bright Iris Film Co. marks the agency’s evolution into a full-service film strategy and communications firm, offering services including creative distribution roadmapping, film branding and messaging, targeted audience activations and innovative publicity and marketing solutions.
Bright Iris Film Co. most recently implemented the successful independent virtual cinema release of Flannery, a documentary about the life, work and legacy of American author Flannery O’Connor. Co-directed by Elizabeth Coffman and Mark Bosco and produced in association with American Masters, Trifone and her agency spearheaded the documentary’s early distribution plans, developed its branding and marketing materials, secured nationwide virtual theatrical bookings and implemented the fim’s robust release publicity campaign. This fall, the company will partner with Chicago-based NewCity Films (Signature Move, Knives+Skin) to support the release of their latest feature, Dreaming Grand Avenue; Trifone will also rep two films premiering at the upcoming DWF-LA film festival (August 27 - September 6).
Trifone has worked in the independent film space for nearly fifteen years, first in regional film festivals, then in marketing and PR roles in arthouse distribution; she started her own agency in early 2017. Her work includes driving the North American releases of several award-winning independent films; implementing regional and targeted publicity campaigns on titles from Cohen Media Group, Zeitgeist Films, Music Box Films and more; as well as repping film organizations like the Chicago Film Critics Association.
With Bright Iris Film Co., Trifone and her team are poised to expand upon an existing track record of amplifying and elevating titles at every stage of release, with the company’s trademark approach at the heart of every engagement, one that combines a depth of industry experience with a wealth of enthusiasm for celebrating the stories that connect us.
