Peter Hawley New Illinois Film Director

The Illinois Film Office has a new director, Illinois-based filmmaker Peter Hawley.
Hawley has worked as a filmmaker in the state for more than three decades, writing and directing the feature film VICTIMLESS CRIMES, directing and producign numerous television commercials, music videos and other award-winning documentary films.
Beginning in 1996 he began his teaching career at Columbia College Chicago. In 2007 he was one of the original faculty members at Flashpoint Chicago, and named Dean in 2014. He became Dean of Columbia College Hollywood in 2016, merging both campuses. Peter began teaching at Loyola University Chicago in 2017.
“Illinois has become a world-class destination for film and television and I am excited to join Governor Pritzker’s administration as head of the Film Office," Hawley said. "I look forward to continuing to increase Illinois’ profile among the film community and showcasing the wonderful art being produced across the state.”
