TWO IN THE BUSH Midwest Premiere At Fest
September 20, 2018 by Screenmag
The Midwest Independent Film Festival will host the Midwest premiere of romantic comedy TWO IN THE BUSH: A LOVE STORY as part of the festival’s First Tuesdays screening series.
The modern romantic comedy takes a wise and witty look at the world of relationships, bisexuality, and polyamory, through the story of Emily, who, after losing her job, arrives home early from work to find her girlfriend in bed with someone else. Moving in with her best friend to grieve and heal, Emily lands a new gig working for a dominatrix, and becomes involved with both her new boss, and her boss’s boyfriend.
Of the film, Madalinski says, “This film is for the queer community, for the sex worker community, and for the polyamorous and non-monogamous communities because we need, and deserve, love stories… I hope that it echoes their experience, that it gives them hope for their own happy ending, and that it makes them feel less alone in the world.”
Co-written by Madalinski and partner Kelly Haas, the film was made entirely in Chicago and features Chicago actors Sarah Mitchell, Travis Delgado, Caitlin Aase, and Melissa DuPrey.
The screening is part of The Midwest Independent Film Festival’s monthly First Tuesday event series and will take place on October 2, at 6 p.m. at Landmark Century Cinema, 2828 N. Clark St., Chicago.
