Ad Comm Winners Announced

In front of a packed house at Tuesday's Advertising Community Shorts Night, Andre Muir's 4 CORNERS took the Grand Jury Prize while LULLABY THEORIES: CEREAL FLUID received special recognition.
Muir's piece featured four selections from the director illustrating a community's struggle with the impact of gun violence. CEREAL FLUID, meanwhile, is an exploration of curiosity, sleep, and space in animated shorts from Producer/Directors Clara Lehmann and Jonathan Lacocque
The Midwest Independent Film Festival partnered with AICP Midwest for the event. The Jury, comprised of professionals working in the advertising industry in Chicago, was tasked with curating the evening’s program as well as selecting the Advertising Community Shorts Program Grand Jury Prize recipient. Special guest Jurors include Jorge Arana (Director/Producer), Jeff Beck (VML), Jennifer Bluford (Agency Ten35), German Chavez (TCG Collective), Brittany Marie Foster (FCB), Eric Flinn (The Onion), Ethan Guberman (Reach Creative), Liz Kozak (Second City Communications), Jennifer Lumpkin (Quriosity), Matt Marcus (R/GA), Sara Martin (mcgarrybowen), Ciara Medina (Fluent 360), Jim Myers (SimonMyers), Oisin O'Driscoll (The Mill), Joseph Tipre (FCB), and Marie Walz (Paco Collective).
“This program showcases and celebrates the range of talent and passion in this segment of the Midwest filmmaking community, and shows an increasing shift towards honoring the importance of storytelling from many points of view, especially from historically underrepresented voices,” said Amy Guth, the festival’s Executive Director before the annual event.
