In honor of International Women’s Day March 8th, The Midwest Independent Film Festival's panel tonight will be a One on One with Filmmaker Jennifer Reeder.
Reeder constructs personal fiction films about relationships, trauma and coping. Her award-winning narratives are innovative and borrow from a range of forms including after school specials, amateur music videos and magical realism. These films have shown consistently around the world, including the Sundance Film Festival, The Berlin Film Festival, The Rotterdam Film Festival, The London Film Festival, SXSW, The Venice Biennale and The Whitney Biennial. Her awards include several that have qualified her films for Oscar nomination. The Midwest Independent Film Fest has screened four of her films, which have been nominated for awards 3 times. Her feature SIGNATURE MOVE won for Best Director and Best DP.
Jennifer Reeder will be interviewed by Melissa Thornley, tonight’s Emcee.
The panel starts at 6:30 p.m. and is followed by a program of short films including A TRAGEDY starring David Pasquesi and Tracy Letts.
