PATRIOT Renewed for Season Two... But Where Will It Shoot?
April 18, 2017 by Mike McNamara
Amazon has renewed its genre-bending spy drama Patriot for Season Two, guaranteeing the further adventures of creator-writer-director Steven Conrad’s Tavner family. The pickup follows the 10-episode first season that launched on Amazon Prime in February after its World Premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
Though the first season's storyline leaps from Milwaukee to Luxembourg and plenty of points in between, the bulk of the production was headquartered in Chicago at Cinespace Studios and Chicago Studio City. "PATRIOT is a great example of networks taking notice that we have so much more to offer here in Chicago than just our iconic urban architecture," commented Keslow Camera Chicago General Manager Colette Gabriel. "We have excellent talent in front of and behind the camera."
That being said, there are now questions as to where the second season will film. On the positive side, writer and director - and most importantly, Chicagoan - Steve Conrad is back for Season Two, but the question at hand is: where will the storylines for this upcoming season take intelligence officer John Tavner? Europe? Asia? Back to the Midwest? Or a combination of the three? We should know soon enough, and as details come available... as always, I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, let's salute Steve and his cast and crew on this much-deserved victory and if you haven't yet, be sure to hop on Amazon Prime and enjoy the first season of PATRIOT.
