More BATMAN V SUPERMAN for Illinois?

There might be a whole lot more BATMAN and a whole lot more SUPERMAN in Illinois than expected this fall. And even better, they're fighting each other. The mega-budget blockbuster BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, currently filming in Michigan, was initially expected to only pass through Illinois for four or five days, but now it's looking like the production might be setting up shop in the state for four or five weeks.

Illinois Film Office Director Betsy Steinberg added, “Batman and Superman have spent a lot of time in our great state and we are thrilled to host them again for as long as possible.”

Meanwhile, the comic book world has been abuzz with BATMAN V SUPERMAN following the reveal of the first trailer for the movie at Comic Con in San Diego last week.

So where's the trailer now, for hundreds of millions of us to view, way more times than we should? Well, according to Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and international distribution at Warner Bros, the Comic Con trailer was only part of a "presentation" and will not be released to the public.

"That's just going to live in that hall. We'll post extended trailers and stills, but that presentation, that was just for those fans," she said when asked about the BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE footage that was shown at Comic-Con.

But we still have something for ya. Here's a detailed description of the first trailer that managed to leak online but was later pulled down by Warner Bros (via

Set at night, in pouring rain, it begins on a rooftop with Ben Affleck's Batman – in souped-up armour much like he wields in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, including glowing eyes – pulling a tarpaulin off the Batsignal. It shines into the sky, and then – illuminated against the clouds, flecked with lightning, standing inside the symbol, is Henry Cavill's Superman. And he does not look happy, his eyes glowing red with burgeoning heat vision ray.

The camera tracks in on Batman's face as he grimaces... and cut to black. No dialogue at this point, so there's no idea of what Affleck sounds like as Batman, or indeed a wider sense of the story, but the message is clear: Clark and Bruce are going to face off, and Bruce has enhanced his Batsuit to compensate for the most powerful man alive.
