A Herculean Effort For NBC 5, Olympics
July 30, 2012 by Screenmag
In a Herculean effort of truly Olympic proportions, Chicago agency Scott & Victor partnered with integrated media company Utopic and Audio Producers Group to show off the world of Chicago for a spot that airs during the London games.
The 60-second commercial for NBC 5 that airs locally during the 2012 Olympics called “City” is a vivid black and white montage that captures the Windy City’s diversity in all its humble glory.
Chicago may have been overlooked as the host of the 2016 Olympics, but there definitely is still a sense of pride in the air. The distinctive voice of celebrated Chicagoan Rick Kogan takes viewers on an insider's tour of the "city of countries...a nation of neighborhoods...a republic of townships."
Utopic orchestrated modern and archival, still and moving images to capture the city's singular culture. “Bringing you the world of Chicago” is the tagline for the local network.
"It was such an honor to utilize the Utopic team dynamic, and to work in partnership with Scott & Victor to realize their vision of NBC 5’s love letter to Chicago," says Utopic Editor Tim Kloehn
