Draftfcb Supports TED Fellows Program
July 5, 2012 by Screenmag
Received a release earlier this week (while we were on vacation) announcing that Draftfcb is proud to support the TED Fellows Program.
The program hand-picks innovators from around the globe and brings them to the TED stage, helping to raise international awareness of their remarkable work as well as nurture their careers through ongoing coaching, mentoring and collaboration within the TED community.
Here are some excerpts from the release with quotes from Chris Miller and Jamie Shuttleworth:
As passionate believers in the behavior-changing power of ideas, Draftfcb is proud to announce its support of the TED Fellows program.
As a member of the TED community, Draftfcb will welcome this group of dynamic thinkers to the agency throughout the coming year for inspiration, idea exchanges, networking and learning opportunities for staff and clients. Since the program launched in 2009, TED Fellows have scaled a platform that enables users to crowdsource crisis information, created revolutionary open-source blueprints for building tractors and other industrial machinery from scratch, and have inspired students to study neuroscience through self-led experiments with cockroaches -- among many other game-changing projects.
To date, the TED Fellows program has honored 287 Fellows from 75 different countries and has received a total of 6,500 applications from around the world.
“As an agency focused on changing behavior, we look outward to those who are changing the world for inspiration. TED stands apart as an organization that is the preeminent curator of ideas and those that create them,” said Jamie Shuttleworth, chief strategy officer at Draftfcb Chicago.
Added Chris Miller, EVP, group management director of digital for Draftfcb Chicago, “We enthusiastically believe that inspiration can be found everywhere, and often where you least expect it. We are proud to support the TED Fellows and help them find new platforms to spread their powerful ideas even further.”
