Director Stephen Gyllenhaal joins Hollywood, CA-based MRB Productions, a premier production company specializing in television, features, new media and commercial content, founded by two-time Emmy Award-winning Executive Producer and CEO Matthew Brady in 2001.
The company signed Gyllenhaal as a commercial director immediately after working with him on the upcoming MRB Productions independent feature film, “Grassroots.” Starring Jason Biggs and Lauren Ambrose, “Grassroots” is a character-driven film showcasing the power people have to spark a political movement.
Gyllenhaal is renowned for being one of America’s finest film and television directors, with directing credits like the Emmy-nominated film adaptation of “Paris Trout” and various television series, like ABC’s “Twin Peaks,” CBS’s “Numb3rs,” “Blue Bloods,” “The 22” and Anne Heche in the TV movie, “Girlfight.”
“Stephen and I had a wonderful working relationship on “Grassroots”, and MRB kept getting boards for directors with a background in storytelling,” said Brady. “I talked to Stephen about directing commercials and he was excited to jump on board. Instantly, we booked two projects for Reebok and ESPN.”
“Filmmaking is truly a labor of love for me and I am thrilled to be getting into the commercial space with MRB,” said Gyllenhaal.
