Shoreline Entertainment Boards Hulk Hogan on ‘Black River’

Morris Ruskin’s LA-based international sales agency Shoreline Entertainment has acquired the worldwide sales rights to Joe Eckardt’s thriller, “Black River”, starring WWE legends Hulk Hogan and Diamond Dallas Page.
The film, currently in pre-production, features Page as a relapsed blackout drunk who, after a night of heavy drinking, finds his neighbor bludgeoned to death and the bloody murder weapon in his home. Hogan co-stars as a world-weary FBI profiler tracking a serial murderer to the town of Black River.
Shoreline’s director of acquisitions Timothy Tahir closed the deal with producer/director Joe Eckardt’s Rock On! Films. Writer Eric B. Anderson and Chicago-based Corn Bred Films will co-produce.
Eckardt’s past films include “High Hopes” (starring Edward Furlong Jason Mewes, Lacey Chabert, and Andy Dick), “Champion” (a documentary about the life of Danny Trejo featuring interviews with Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, Dennis Hopper, Steve Buscemi, and Robert Rodriguez), and the family superhero film “Pizza Man”, starring Frankie Muniz, Shelley Long and Stan Lee.
“I’m looking for unique voices, directors that can create something interesting and unexpected that will stand out. It’s clear that the team behind this project has a specific, unique vision, which we can’t wait to translate to the big screen,” Ruskin said. “Shoreline looks forward to working with Rock On! Films in the future and to promoting Black River throughout the world.”
